ASIC Design Engineering Manager, Lund

About the role

Axis is expanding its ASIC department to meet the demands of next-generation data processing, and is looking for a passionate leader to head its ASIC Design team in Lund. The team designs, develops and implements the hardware modules behind ARTPEC, including FPGA design, and works on real-time image processing, video compression and computer vision. This is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of ASIC and FPGA engineers, building a strong, inclusive team culture and setting clear expectations.
• Work closely with the project manager and the Technology department to define the strategic technical direction of the next generation of ARTPECs and align with the product roadmap.
• Handle planning, budgeting, resource allocation and day-to-day operations across several complex ASIC development cycles.
• Take part in management teams in the ASIC and Technology departments and in cross-functional project steering groups.
• Drive improvements in design methodologies, tools and processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience leading engineering teams as a team lead, project manager or in a formal people-management role.
• Track record in technically demanding R&D environments, with architectural oversight and strategic vision.
• Enthusiasm for active participation in the leadership team and in shaping the direction of a multi-site department.
• Good leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and visualize the direction ahead.
