Research and Development Project Controller

About the role

Nordic Investin is recruiting a Research and Development Project Controller on behalf of one of its partner companies. The partner is strengthening its financial control capability for long-term research and product-development portfolios. The role sits close to stakeholders responsible for revenue, cost, projects or operations, and focuses on connecting project accounting, forecasts and earned value while keeping grants and capitalisation disciplined.

Key responsibilities

• Own the practical direction of financial control for long-term research and product-development portfolios.
• Translate goals and constraints into a clear approach for project accounting and forecasts.
• Establish standards, routines or artefacts around earned value.
• Coordinate stakeholders and dependencies affecting grants.
• Use evidence and measurable outcomes to improve capitalisation.
• Strengthen knowledge sharing, decision quality and sustainable ownership across the team.

Required profile

• Relevant experience delivering financial control for long-term research and product-development portfolios in a demanding environment.
• Ability to assess risk, priorities and trade-offs involving capitalisation.
• Evidence of clear stakeholder communication and dependable end-to-end ownership.
• Professional English and the judgement to work with sensitive or business-critical information.
• Backgrounds such as group finance, operations, audit, advisory or a growing business are welcome; direct experience in R&D financial control is valuable, as is adjacent experience showing transferable judgement.
• Experience in life sciences, engineering or advanced technology, exposure to cross-functional governance, and Swedish or Nordic organisational experience adds value.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of project accounting and forecasts.
• Practical experience applying earned value and grants.
