Compliance Model Validator

About the role

Join Swedbank’s compliance team to independently validate financial crime risk models, including rule‑based and machine‑learning solutions. You will assess model objectives, design, data, governance and performance, and produce high‑quality validation reports that support the first line of defence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent validation of AML/CTF/FS models, covering both supervised and unsupervised machine‑learning techniques.
• Evaluate model risk across objective, design, assumptions, data quality, implementation and ongoing monitoring.
• Produce detailed validation reports and challenge the first line of defence with evidence‑based findings.
• Contribute to Swedbank’s continuous compliance maturity journey and support tool and model enhancements.

Required profile

• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics or economics.
• Experience assembling and analysing large data sets, strong stakeholder management and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Proactive, self‑leadership, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Python programming for data science and model development.
• SQL for querying and manipulating large databases.
• Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
• Experience with linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forest and isolation forest algorithms.
• Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine‑learning methods.
