Master's Thesis: Human-AI Interaction Research

About the role

Huawei Sweden R&D is looking for a curious and motivated Master's student to carry out thesis research on user experience, emerging technologies and Human-AI interaction. The student will develop their own research questions, explore different methodologies and contribute insights that inform future design decisions. The project is based in the UCD Lab in Lund, Sweden, and the student is expected to work from the Lund office throughout.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, HCI, Interaction Design, Psychology, Computer Science or a related field at a Swedish university.
• Ability to formulate research questions, create a research plan and conduct independent research.
• Experience with academic research, research synthesis and literature reviews.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to share findings through clear reports, presentations and actionable design recommendations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys and competitive benchmarking.
• Experience with UX research and analysis tools.
• Interest in emerging technologies, human-centered design, AI ethics, digital futures or the societal impact of technology.
• Familiarity with academic writing and conference publishing processes.
