Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy's Power Quality Solutions support the green energy transition by bringing resilience, stability and increased capacity to the power grid, enabling more renewable energy sources to be integrated. This full-time Electrical Design Engineer role in Västerås involves designing control and relay protection systems, electrical plant systems and auxiliary equipment, and integrating third-party systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design control and relay protection systems, electrical plant systems and auxiliary equipment, and integrate third-party systems.
• Convert technical requirements into a validated design and ensure customer requirements are met.
• Create drawings and product configurations.
• Work with base design solutions and processes, and support customers with documentation.
• Contribute to delivery projects, improvement projects and tenders, alone or with team members.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or similar work experience.
• Knowledge of electric CAD systems; Zuken E3 and Engineering Base is a benefit.
• Knowledge of relay configuration.
• Experience with FACTS, substations or infrastructure projects is a big advantage.
• English is a must; Swedish is a plus.
