Backend Engineer - Studio

About the role
Join Epidemic Sound’s Studio team and help power an AI‑driven soundtracking product that turns video uploads into complete, editable soundscapes. You will work on the backend systems that power the multi‑agent pipeline, video analysis, and the API that serves the editor.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate agentic systems that generate soundscapes from video content.
- Develop and maintain the Python agent platform and the Go/GraphQL Studio API, including Pub/Sub‑driven workers and GKE workloads.
- Own reliability, observability, and incident response for production services.
- Iteratively ship features behind flags, monitor rollouts, and respond to incidents.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers on the Assistant launch and video analysis platform evolution.
Required profile
- Strong backend engineering experience with distributed systems in production.
- Hands‑on experience building agentic or LLM‑based pipelines that reach real users.
- Proven ability to own services on a major cloud platform (GCP or similar) and manage event‑driven architectures.
- Self‑starter who takes initiative and challenges decisions constructively.
