Quality Engineer

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY SWEDEN AB, through its Power Transformers business unit, is looking for a Quality Engineer in Ludvika, Dalarna County. Power Transformers manufactures power transformers and reactors up to the highest power and voltage levels, and its Ludvika unit is a hub for ultra-high voltage technology. The role sits centrally in the quality department and influences both production and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive quality and process improvements with cross-functional teams
• Develop, implement and maintain quality standards for products and manufacturing processes, in line with customer requirements, industry standards and internal procedures
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures
• Monitor production quality performance, analyse quality data and reduce deviations
• Analyse Failure Costs (COPQ) and drive cost-improving quality initiatives
• Initiate and lead quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools
• Conduct system, process and product audits and support certification readiness
• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 quality management system
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation and development
• Educate employees on quality tools and practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, quality management or a related technical field
• Proven experience in quality engineering or quality management in a manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge of quality tools, quality systems and root cause analysis methods
• Experience with audits and ISO standards
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and a structured approach to problem solving
• Fluent Swedish and English, spoken and written

Required skills

• Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods (Green Belt or appropriate level)
• Data analysis tools, including Power BI
