Simulation Model Engineer

About the role

HVDC System Design is looking for a Simulation Model Engineer in Ludvika, Sweden. The role works on real-world applications that support the global shift to renewable energy through HVDC transmission connections, alongside a team of professionals from around the world.

Key responsibilities

• Develop simulation models in the tools used for power system studies
• Develop tools that give a virtual representation of real-time control and protection systems
• Produce technical documentation and reports
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions
• Engage with customers from specification through to final acceptance
• Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices for simulation models and tools

Required profile

• Master's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with control/signal theory, dynamic modelling or power system tools
• Fluent English, as the company operates globally
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Independent problem-solving and initiative

Required skills

• Power system tools such as PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory, PSLF, EMTP-RV, Hypersim, Dymola, PSS® NETOMAC
• Programming knowledge or interest in C++, C#, Fortran, Python, MATLAB or Modelica
