Project Planner - HVDC Service

About the role

Hitachi Energy's HVDC Service is looking for a Project Planner in Ludvika, Sweden. HVDC transmits electricity over long distances and through submarine cables, and the company is interested in candidates who can contribute even if they do not meet all requirements. The role is full time and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling and effort estimation for all project and tender phases.
• Provide the Project Manager and Line Managers with Earned Value Management analysis, covering schedule, progress, planned and actual figures, resources, productivity, trends and risks.
• Drive projects and tenders with strong scope management.
• Analyze project requirements with the project and tender team and check that work activities are detailed enough for realistic schedules.
• Define, with the project team, the work and cost breakdown structure, and maintain linked, resource-loaded baseline and current schedules.
• Monitor progress, analyze critical paths and milestones, notify the team of deviations and help optimize resources.
• Issue progress reports, program updates and productivity data regularly and as requested by customers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to Sales and Operation Planning (SOP) at HVDC Service.

Required profile

• Experience in planning and/or cost control on lump sum projects or equivalent.
• Understanding of logical sequencing and interfacing of project execution activities in EPC projects, and ability to lead planning in multi-location EPC projects.
• Experience planning activities and monitoring schedules and physical progress across all project phases.
• Cost management experience, including cost estimates and compliance with the time schedule.
• Strong communication skills, team player with team management and leadership skills.
• Engineering degree and English proficiency required; additional languages including Swedish are an advantage.
