Head of Engineering

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AI‑native Head of Engineering to lead and build Redpine’s engineering organization in Stockholm. The role combines hands‑on coding, architecture design, and team leadership, reporting directly to the CPTO and co‑founder.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture a high‑trust engineering culture with clear ownership and low ceremony.
• Define and own the architecture for data pipelines, retrieval, reranking, knowledge graph, API, MCP and CLI used by autonomous agents.
• Set planning, prioritisation and delivery processes to keep cycle time short while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Stay at the AI frontier, evaluate new model releases and guide the team on which innovations to adopt.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams at a scaling startup, accountable for shipped products.
• Deep familiarity with AI research, model cards and the ability to translate research findings into product decisions.
• Strong technical credibility: can write, review code and earn engineers’ trust.

Required skills

• Design and implementation of data pipelines and large‑scale data infrastructure.
• Experience with retrieval, RAG, knowledge graphs and building APIs/CLI for agents.
• Software architecture and systems reliability (latency, cost, uptime).
