About the role
ABB Robotics is offering a master thesis position within its Mechanical Analysis R&D team. The work focuses on developing advanced computational methods for simulation and engineering design of robotic systems, combining numerical analysis with geometric modeling.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a literature study on simulation and modeling methods.
- Analyze and interpret simulation data, exploring suitable computational approaches.
- Develop and test numerical methods, implementing them in Python or MATLAB.
- Evaluate, document results and provide conclusions and recommendations.
Required profile
- Student in Applied Mathematics or Engineering Physics.
- Strong background in numerical analysis, linear algebra and scientific programming.
- Solid understanding of geometry, curves, surfaces and differential geometry at an advanced undergraduate level.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
