Machine Learning Systems Engineer – Scalable Media Platform

About the role

As a Machine Learning Systems Engineer at Tether, you will help build a highly scalable media intelligence platform that ingests, processes, and structures large volumes of multimedia content. You will work on the core backend systems that enable AI‑driven analysis, metadata generation, semantic search, and retrieval across extensive media libraries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend pipelines for media ingestion, processing, and AI‑based analysis.
• Develop and maintain production‑grade moderation workflows using open‑source models.
• Architect scalable storage and retrieval mechanisms for text, image, video, and audio data.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate ML models into end‑to‑end production systems.
• Monitor performance, optimize resource usage, and ensure reliability of the platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend engineering and system design for large‑scale data processing.
• Strong background in applied machine learning and AI model deployment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, globally distributed team.
• Excellent English communication skills.
