Software Engineer - Real-Time Media Platform

About the role

Cisco's Webex Media engineering team in Stockholm builds the meeting experience that connects people and businesses worldwide. It is described as a highly motivated, startup-like team within a global organization, working on a real-time media platform that supports a hybrid workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve shared real-time media platform components, APIs and cross-platform runtime layers based on product requirements.
• Perform peer code reviews and automate development workflows and quality gates.
• Take part in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, planning, releases and retrospectives.
• Collaborate across teams and take part in training and mentoring to broaden technical and soft skills.

Required profile

• Proficiency in C/C++ with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Experience building native platform components on Windows, macOS/iOS, Android (NDK) or Linux, including OS-level integration and performance-sensitive code.
• Uses AI responsibly to accelerate development.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing cross-platform media platform solutions with appropriate patterns and build tools.
• Experience with close-to-real-time systems, shared platform services and performance-sensitive code paths.
• Experience with media streaming, real-time media platforms and relevant protocols.
• Reviews AI-generated code critically and steers AI effectively through context and prompt design.
