Software Engineer - Real-Time Media

Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer for its Webex Media engineering team in Stockholm. The team builds the meeting experience that connects people and businesses worldwide, working as a highly motivated, startup-like group within a global organization. The work supports the shift to a hybrid workforce and aims to make people feel truly connected.

Key responsibilities

• Bring new real-time media features to life based on product requirements.
• Perform peer code reviews and automate development workflows and quality gates.
• Take part in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, planning, releases and retrospectives.
• Collaborate across teams and take part in training and mentoring to broaden technical and soft skills.

Required profile

• Proficiency in C/C++ with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Uses AI responsibly to accelerate development.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with media streaming and relevant protocols for real-time applications.
• Experience designing cross-platform solutions with appropriate patterns and build tools.
• Experience with close-to-real-time systems and performance-sensitive code paths.
• Reviews AI-generated code critically before using it and steers AI effectively through context and prompt design.
