Senior Software Engineering Manager (Remote)

About the role

DigitalTolk, a Swedish company that connects hospitals, courts, lawyers and municipalities with interpreters for refugees and other people in need, is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager. The role is remote and focuses on leading, mentoring and growing engineering managers and engineers across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, processes and ways of working.
• Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, efficient and predictable results.
• Drive engineering excellence in code quality, system reliability, security and automation.
• Own people development, performance management, coaching and career progression.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and long-term team development.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational challenges.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative and positive culture across international engineering teams.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of engineering management experience and 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of system design and architecture.
• Ability to make sound decisions, balance competing priorities and manage cross-team dependencies in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Software development, quality assurance, CI/CD and Agile/Scrum.
• Modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to drive AI-first engineering.
• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
