Principal Database Engineer

About the role

Calabrio-Verint, a provider of customer experience intelligence, is looking for a Principal Database Engineer in Stockholm. The role owns and maintains the organization's domain model, designs database structures and acts as the technical authority for how data is structured and integrated across products. It supports business operations with high-performing, enterprise-scale database solutions while ensuring data availability, integrity and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design database structures, schemas, tables, indexes and data models that reflect how data is related across products
• Develop and optimize queries, stored procedures and database processes to improve performance
• Map and reconcile data models across products and act as the go-to technical authority for data connections across the platform
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues and carry out performance tuning and capacity planning for large enterprise customers
• Implement database security controls, including user access management, encryption and compliance requirements
• Support reporting, analytics and business intelligence through data extraction and database solutions
• Collaborate with application, data and infrastructure teams to integrate and support enterprise systems
• Maintain database documentation, standards and operational procedures
• Evaluate emerging technologies and set database standards and best practices across teams

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MySQL, and experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience mapping and integrating data models across multiple products or systems and supporting database performance at enterprise scale
• Programming and automation skills in Python, Java or C#
• Expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and performance management
