Senior Product Manager - Core Banking Platform

About the role

Avarda Group operates a suite of core banking platforms that power consumer lending, credit cards, deposits and payments across several European markets. As Senior Product Manager you will own the product agenda for these platforms, shaping road‑maps, priorities and requirements to meet business, operational and regulatory objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the roadmap and backlog for the Core Banking domain, covering both internally developed and licensed platforms.
• Prioritise and sequence delivery together with IT teams responsible for core banking systems and integrations.
• Own product logic for customer accounts, product configuration, interest calculation, fees, billing cycles, repayment hierarchies and lifecycle events.
• Drive evolution of capabilities across lending, cards, deposits and payments, ensuring seamless integration with payment rails and external partners.
• Shape “orchestrate, not rip‑and‑replace” strategies, deciding platform allocation, migration paths and exposure of capabilities.
• Translate business, regulatory and operational requirements into testable product requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
• Act as the product counterpart to platform vendors, handling scope definition, acceptance testing and release sign‑off.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, compliance, risk and engineering to keep platforms scalable and compliant.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of core banking processes, including account management, product setup, interest and fee handling, billing, repayments and servicing.
• Experience with platforms supporting consumer lending, credit cards, deposits or transactional banking.
• Working knowledge of payments and card processing, including SEPA payments, settlements and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to write precise, testable requirements and follow them through delivery and acceptance.
• Experience with platform migrations, modernisation programmes or system consolidation initiatives.
