VP of Engineering - Foundational Platform

About the role

Join Epidemic Sound as VP of Engineering for the Foundational Platform, leading the technical backbone that powers all product teams. You will oversee five platform teams across ML/AI Ops, Developer Experience, Data Platform, and Service Infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability and security for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability, scalability and security of core infrastructure, including identity and authorisation.
• Lead, mentor and develop engineering managers and their teams across five platform groups.
• Define and maintain a technical vision and roadmap aligned with product area needs.
• Drive the Developer Experience agenda to enable fast, confident service development.
• Champion agentic‑first development practices and MLOps infrastructure for AI models and agents.
• Maintain commercial accountability, balancing engineering velocity, cost and gross margin.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders and communicate platform strategy to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams in a fast‑moving technology environment.
• Strong understanding of security, reliability and scalability requirements for enterprise‑grade platforms.
• Experience with ML/AI Ops, MLOps and AI agent deployment.
• Ability to set technical vision and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
