UAS Flight Manager – Lead Unmanned Flight Operations

About the role

UMS Skeldar is seeking a UAS Flight Manager to lead and develop its growing unmanned helicopter flight organization in Linköping. You will be responsible for the safety, efficiency, and strategic growth of UAS flight operations, working closely with remote pilots, technicians, engineers, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, execute, and oversee daily UAS flight operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures.
• Lead and develop flight crews—including Remote Pilots, Flight Technicians, and Flight Test Engineers—through training, proficiency tracking, and competence management.
• Drive safety and risk management by conducting safety reviews, risk assessments, audits, and maintaining the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure operational readiness and verify flight‑related documentation and approvals.
• Act as primary liaison for operation sites, aviation authorities, customers, and internal stakeholders, supporting deliveries, demonstrations, and new operational concepts.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and overall performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aviation or unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operations.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety management for UAS.
• Leadership experience managing remote pilots, technicians, and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent decision‑making ability, especially under safety‑critical conditions.
