Software Engineer, Infrastructure

About the role

Rerun is building a new multimodal data stack for physical AI, creating the data infrastructure and tools that will transform the physical‑world economy. You will join a small team developing Rerun Hub and own the control plane that powers it, including the Kubernetes operator that automates deployments for both our cloud and customer environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Kubernetes operator that provisions, configures, and manages Rerun Hub deployments across our own cloud infrastructure and inside customer accounts.
• Handle deep customer onboarding by extending the control plane to meet new infrastructure requirements, covering networking, IAM, storage, and cluster configuration.
• Ensure production reliability and scale through observability, CI/CD pipelines, incident response, and a smooth deployment experience from local development to production.
• Participate in a follow‑the‑sun on‑call rotation with the rest of the team.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with a mindset that treats infrastructure as code.
• Deep Kubernetes experience, especially with the operator pattern (CRDs, controllers, reconciliation).
• Proficiency in Go and ability to read or contribute to an asynchronous Rust codebase.
• Solid experience with AWS and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu, plus production‑grade observability.
• Comfort working directly in customer cloud accounts to perform deep plumbing and onboarding.
• Excellent English communication, ownership mindset, and a curious, helpful attitude.
