Software Engineer – HVAC Configuration & Calculation Systems

About the role

Bosch Thermotechnology AB in Tranås develops, manufactures and sells heat pumps that use energy from rock, water and air. The company has both its production unit and its competence and development centre in Tranås. As a Software Engineer for HVAC configuration and calculation systems, you will help shape how heating, cooling and ventilation systems are calculated and configured.

Key responsibilities

• Create smart configurator tools: build backend functionality and interactive graphical features that make heat pump and HVAC system planning efficient and precise.
• Enhance algorithms: apply thermodynamics and mathematical modelling to improve, modernise and speed up the core calculation engines.
• Add new features to the existing software architecture while keeping the code clean, scalable and maintainable.
• Collaborate in an agile team with developers, engineers and product specialists.

Required profile

• An engineering or science foundation: degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Physics, Engineering Physics or a related discipline.
• Practical programming experience with C#.NET or similar object-oriented languages, and a willingness to develop software engineering skills further; experience with VB is an advantage.
• Strong logical reasoning and understanding of physical principles, especially thermodynamics and system calculations.
• A problem-solving mindset and an open, agile way of working.
