Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Epidemic Sound is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join its central platform team. You will build and operate the core infrastructure that powers all engineering services, turning complex reliability challenges into self‑service solutions for product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GKE clusters, custom controllers, and Terraform‑defined cloud resources.
• Own the end‑to‑end commit‑to‑production pipeline, including CI/CD, GitOps, and progressive‑delivery patterns.
• Strengthen networking and routing layers using VPC, firewalls, and network‑policy configurations.
• Implement and manage IAM, policy‑as‑code, and break‑glass access paths to enable fast yet safe development.
• Improve reliability and observability through alert hygiene, runbooks, SLOs, metrics, and tracing.
• Guide product teams toward production‑ready standards and promote adoption of platform documentation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, especially controllers, CNI, and networking.
• Hands‑on experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and package managers like Helm or Kustomize.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD) and progressive‑delivery mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of cloud networking concepts: VPC, firewalls, network policies, and IAM.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in distributed systems and familiarity with open‑source observability stacks.
• Comfortable working on large, cross‑functional projects and making sound technical judgments.
