Senior Thermal Design Expert

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Thermal Design Expert to join our Engineering Lab in Kista, Stockholm. The role focuses on researching, designing and implementing advanced thermal solutions for Huawei’s ICT product portfolio, collaborating with internal teams and top European universities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal research projects on thermal management of electronic equipment.
• Coordinate external research collaborations with leading European universities.
• Identify, innovate and implement key technologies to address future thermal challenges.
• Develop and validate convection‑based cooling concepts for next‑generation products.

Required profile

• PhD in heat and mass transfer, physics, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial experience in thermal design of electronic cooling.
• Strong research background, preferably with more than 2 years of post‑doctoral experience.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Heat and mass transfer theory, natural and forced convection.
• Thermal design of electronics cooling.
• Proficiency with CFD tools such as Ice Pack, Fluent, StarCCM and Flotherm.
