Senior Solutions Architect - Digital Natives

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect for its Emerging Enterprises team, reporting to a Field Engineering Manager. The role covers the most complex customer engagements, drives consumption strategy, owns executive-level relationships and acts as the definitive technical authority for Startup and Digital Native customers in the Nordics region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive technical and consumption strategy with Account Executives for Startup and Digital Native customers in the Nordics, influencing platform adoption and revenue growth.
• Influence stakeholders across the cloud ecosystem and third-party applications through complex engagements.
• Act as a trusted advisor on significant data analytics architecture, design and adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence platform.
• Lead complex architecture engagements such as multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems and AI/ML at scale.
• Contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership through customer-facing content, workshops and community engagement.
• Coach junior Solutions Architects and teams on use-case prioritisation and on building technical champions.

Required profile

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership or a senior customer-facing technical role.
• Proven track record of driving consumption growth and platform adoption; experience with startups and digital native organisations is advantageous.
• Executive presence able to influence Directors, VPs and C-level stakeholders on long-term data and AI strategy.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience).

Required skills

• Expert-level coding in Python, SQL and ideally Spark/PySpark, with a live coding assessment and platform build in the interview.
• Enterprise data technologies: distributed systems at scale, streaming/real-time, lakehouse design patterns, data governance and cloud-native platforms.
• Cloud platforms: Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP or equivalent depth in competing modern data platforms.
• A declared technical specialisation, e.g. real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance or large-scale migrations.
