R&D Expert – Powder Technology

About the role

Join Sandvik Coromant as an R&D Expert in Powder Technology, driving the development of next‑generation processes for cemented carbide products. You will work in a newly established lab in Västberga, focusing on both new and recycled raw materials and translating advanced expertise into tangible business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply innovative methods, tools, and processes for powder production.
• Lead pilot‑scale powder manufacturing and evaluate new raw material concepts.
• Capture and implement new ideas that add business value to products.
• Share best practices across teams and mentor colleagues.
• Contribute to strategic and operational decisions, especially in uncertain conditions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a technical or research environment related to powder technology.
• Strong network within the powder technology community.
• Proven leadership and project‑management capabilities.
• Master’s degree in engineering, powder technology, materials science, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
