Project Manager – Product Development, Video Surveillance

About the role

Axis is looking for a Project Manager in its System Products department in Lund, Sweden, to strengthen a team of six experienced project managers. The department is responsible for developing products from concept to volume production, such as video decoders, microphones, strobe speakers, recorders, body-worn cameras, midspan and media converters. The role reports to the department director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from idea (product proposal) through conceptual design, execution, industrialization to volume production.
• Lead a project team so that new products meet customer expectations, comply with industry standards and are delivered on time, with good quality and within budget.
• Report to the project's steering group and clarify requirements, schedules and budget, and follow up on progress.
• Work with in-house projects (electronics, mechanics, software, quality assurance, industrial design, production tests, regulatory approvals), sourced projects (verification and certification of partner products) and joint-development projects (partner handles hardware, sourcing and manufacturing; Axis focuses on software, integration and delivery).
• Continuously improve working methods together with project teams and colleagues.

Required profile

• An engineering degree, preferably in mechanical, electronics or software engineering.
• Experience managing product development projects from idea to production.
• Experience working with external suppliers.
• Good knowledge of industrialization and quality assurance.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English.
