Principle Engineer for Planning of New Power System Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a Principle Engineer to lead the planning of next‑generation power system solutions at Huawei Sweden R&D in Kista. You will shape the technical vision, integrate emerging technologies and drive joint‑innovation projects with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market and technology trends in BESS, FACTS, HVDC, MVDC and related platforms to define long‑term product strategies.
• Lead simulations, power‑system studies and field‑testing activities within joint‑innovation projects.
• Collaborate with customers, partners and standardisation bodies, representing Huawei in technical leadership roles.
• Translate customer pain points into market‑leading solutions such as grid‑forming inverters, virtual power plants and advanced energy‑storage concepts.
• Guide cross‑functional teams in the development of renewable‑energy integration platforms.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of new power‑system architectures and the ability to anticipate customer needs across diverse operational scenarios.
• Proven track record of bringing critical power‑system technologies to market and influencing executive‑level decisions.
• Experience in power‑systems control for power‑electronic inverters is highly desirable.
• Strong initiative, creativity, teamwork and communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
