Power+ Graduate Trainee – Engineering Programme

About the role

Hitachi Energy is recruiting for its Power+ Graduate Development Programme in Ludvika, Sweden. This is a full-time, early-career rotational programme starting in September 2027, with the first rotation in Ludvika. It is a 13-country programme spanning 18 months of three six-month rotations, giving participants exposure to different Business Units and Functions. Participants become full-time employees from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Work on projects in areas such as quality engineering, software engineering, consulting, sales, manufacturing operations, project engineering, project management and R&D.
• Drive innovation across Business Units and Functions, turning mistakes into learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with rotational managers and stakeholders to achieve business goals, working with technologies such as HVDC, transformers, grid protection and control and HV circuit breakers.
• Take part in Power+ global and local activities, promote the programme and build leadership potential while applying diversity, equity and inclusion principles.

Required profile

• Master's degree in engineering within STEM fields (e.g. electrical, mechanical, software, industrial, energy systems engineering).
• Permanent authorization to work in Sweden.
• No more than 2 years of professional experience by the start date.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• High-quality standards, analytical skills, adaptability, team cohesion, leadership potential and intercultural sensitivity.
