Installation Lead – Shipyard & Vessel Installations

About the role

As Oceanbird moves from prototype to commercial delivery, the Installation Lead will turn plans and technical solutions into safe, efficient installations at shipyards and onboard vessels, and manage the demonstrator wing in Landskrona.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and lead installation and commissioning activities at shipyards, harbours and onboard vessels.
• Translate project and engineering requirements into practical installation plans, work sequences, resource needs and schedules.
• Coordinate on‑site installation teams and act as the operational interface with shipyards, vessel crews, customers and subcontractors.
• Lead safe execution of work, ensuring risk assessments, work permits, toolbox talks and safety procedures are followed.
• Monitor progress, quality and safety, resolve issues and capture lessons learned for future installations.
• Maintain installation procedures, method statements, SOPs, checklists and manuals.
• Oversee operation, maintenance and test readiness of the demonstrator wing in Landskrona.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading installations, commissioning or major maintenance of complex mechanical or electromechanical equipment on commercial vessels or shipyards.
• Background in shipyard new‑build projects, preferably with bulk carriers, tankers or similar vessel types.
• Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical, marine, electrical or related) or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of safe working practices in shipyard, industrial or onboard environments.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally and work onboard vessels.

• Risk assessment and safety permit management.
