Director, People Business Partner

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director, People Business Partner to work with leaders across the Northern Europe division. The role focuses on shaping and executing people strategies that drive business growth, organisational effectiveness, and an exceptional employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Northern Europe leaders to develop workforce plans, talent priorities, and people strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Act as the operational escalation point for local HR issues.
• Lead delivery of talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, and year‑end compensation processes.
• Coach leaders through organisational design, change, and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and Shared Services to provide integrated people solutions.
• Analyse workforce data, talent insights, and market intelligence to inform decisions.
• Advise on employment legislation, labour market trends, and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders to create and execute people strategies that enhance performance and growth.
• Strong business acumen combined with deep HR expertise in a complex, global matrix environment.
• Ability to influence and build trusted relationships across multiple functions and regions.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills for leaders at all levels.
