Automation Engineer

About the role

Husqvarna Group is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join its automation and product development team in Huskvarna. You will work with advanced test systems, industrial automation and product verification, collaborating across product groups and projects on the development, commissioning and continuous improvement of automated systems. The role is hands-on, with significant responsibility and influence.

Key responsibilities

• Program and develop PLC-based automation solutions, mainly in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3
• Commission, troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment and test systems
• Support machine safety implementation and ensure compliance with relevant standards
• Work on system integration and communication between automation systems and connected equipment
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across product groups, projects and improvement initiatives
• Help develop new test solutions and improve existing ones
• Contribute to long-term automation strategies

Required profile

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field
• Several years of experience with industrial automation systems
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Swedish is strongly meritorious
• Self-driven, analytical, collaborative, curious and quality-focused

Required skills

• Extensive experience programming PLC systems in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3
• Commissioning, troubleshooting and optimization of automated systems
• Knowledge of machine safety standards and industrial communication protocols
• Experience with test systems or automated production equipment is highly beneficial
