Additive Manufacturing Design Engineer – R&D

About the role
Join Seco’s Additive & Advanced Forming Methods department to design and develop cutting tools using additive manufacturing. You will work from early R&D prototypes through to production‑ready standard and custom solutions, ensuring high quality and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Create complex tool designs optimized for additive manufacturing.
- Collaborate with product development, technical centers and internal testing teams.
- Support other designers across Seco and Sandvik with design‑for‑AM guidance.
- Occasionally engage with customers to address specific requirements.
- Drive independent initiatives and manage design projects from concept to delivery.
Required profile
- Solid background in design engineering, preferably with AM experience.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, measurement and quality control.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English; Swedish is a plus.
- Curious, analytical mindset with a structured way of working.
- Open‑minded attitude to challenge assumptions and improve solutions.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Siemens NX.
- Experience with Ntopology.
- Knowledge of Ansys for structural simulation.
- Familiarity with optimization methods for design.
