HSE Manager – Metallurgy

About the role

ABB’s Metallurgy Products unit designs and manufactures electromagnetic stirrers for the global steel and aluminium industry. As the HSE Manager you will lead health, safety and environment initiatives across manufacturing, project sites and international installations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE processes, plans and ways of working.
• Support managers, project teams and operational staff in risk assessments, incident investigations and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with ABB corporate requirements, local legal obligations and internal management standards.
• Lead HSE reporting, KPI follow‑up and documentation, guaranteeing evidence for all activities.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Provide HSE support during site activities, installation and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate quality governance, including ISO management systems, audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to expanding the function toward a broader HSEQ framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HSE within manufacturing, industrial operations, engineering or project environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, reporting and management systems.
• Experience with audits, ISO standards and quality processes.
• Hands‑on, structured approach with the ability to work independently and drive activities to completion.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
