Full Stack Engineer, AI Systems

About the role

ActAI builds proactive applications for people who are not used to complex prompting, aiming to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organisation and workflows with minimal to no prompting. It is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build the product layer that turns these capabilities into usable, production-grade workflows, including how agents operate, fail, recover and deliver consistent value.

Key responsibilities

• Build end-to-end product features across frontend, backend and AI integrations
• Design agent workflows that handle planning, tool use, failure and recovery across multiple steps
• Integrate LLMs, memory and external tools into reliable systems
• Design real-time AI interactions with streaming, partial results and tight latency constraints
• Improve system reliability, observability and fallback mechanisms
• Collaborate with ML, backend and product teams to ship features end-to-end
• Iterate continuously based on real usage and failure modes

Required profile

• Strong experience in full stack engineering (frontend and backend)
• Solid understanding of system design and API architecture
• Experience with LLMs, RAG systems or AI-powered applications
• Able to handle ambiguity and make pragmatic engineering decisions
• Strong ownership, taking features from idea to production
• Comfortable in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements

Required skills

• Frontend and backend development
• LLMs, RAG systems and AI applications
• Next.js, Python, Node.js, PyTorch
• OpenAI / Anthropic / open-source LLMs
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Kubernetes and Docker

The interview process involves 3 to 4 virtual or onsite interviews, evaluated by the technical team, with a prompt decision.
