Digital ASIC SoC Architect

About the role

Axis is looking for a Digital ASIC SoC Architect to strengthen its ASIC development in Stockholm. The role sits within the AXIS ASIC Department, which designs, develops, implements, integrates and verifies hardware modules with hardware acceleration for functions in surveillance cameras, including the ARTPEC SoC chip. The position is part of a new R&D office in central Stockholm.

Key responsibilities

• Specify system-level requirements and define the architecture of the ASIC project.
• Evaluate and select third-party intellectual property (IP).
• Support the RTL design and verification teams.
• Cooperate with the ASIC vendor during implementation and work closely with internal hardware and software teams.
• Investigate new methodologies and take part in study circles and workshops to share knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, engineering physics or similar.
• Curious, analytical and passionate about technology, with a team-focused approach.
• Enjoy sharing knowledge with both senior and junior colleagues.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASIC technologies, design, verification, testing and manufacturing.
• Understanding of SoC architecture and digital design concepts such as RTL, FSMs, pipelines, clocking and resets.
• Embedded systems: understanding of hardware-software interaction and embedded system principles.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to write structured documentation.
