Card Schemes Relations Specialist (Visa & Mastercard)

About the role

The Card Schemes Relations Specialist (Visa & Mastercard) will monitor and manage relationships with payment schemes, staying current with Visa and Mastercard regulations to ensure full compliance. The role escalates and mitigates potential risks, protecting the business from non‑compliance and operational disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact between the company and Visa/Mastercard representatives.
• Monitor, translate, and communicate scheme regulation updates to internal teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Visa and Mastercard, handling product launches and policy updates.
• Identify, escalate, and mitigate operational risks to keep the company compliant.
• Support fraud investigations, track fines, and report compliance status through dashboards.
• Provide compliance guidance and training to merchants, partners, sales, and customer‑success teams.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience managing card‑scheme compliance in Payments/EMI/FinTech.
• Deep knowledge of Visa and Mastercard compliance frameworks, mandate cycles, and non‑compliance processes.
• Strong ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex legal and regulatory documents.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude in fast‑paced environments.
